\nHello Troop 11 Scouts &\; Families!
\nTonight we had our annua l swim night at the Italian Center\, where scouts had the opportunity to g et aquatic requirements completed while having some fun swimming indoors d uring the cold winter season. A huge thank you to the Italian Center for l etting us swim tonight and I hope that everyone who went had fun\, it was a great way to kick off our 2022 scouting season!
\nAlso to keep in mind\, due to rising Covid cases in Connecticut we are now going to be req uiring masks when indoors\, so always remember to bring your scoutbook\, a pen\, and a mask to meetings.

Hello Troop 11 Scouts &\; Families!
\nTonight we had our annual swim night at the Italian Center\, where scouts had the opportunity to get aquatic requirements completed while having some fun s wimming indoors during the cold winter season. Bloody Monday Prep Part 1
\n\n
Hello Troop 11 Scouts &\; Families!
\n\n
On Monday\, we had quite the agenda! It consisted of initial preparation for our Bloody Monday recruiti ng event\, an election for Order of the Arrow candidates\, and finishing o ff with a Troop 11 classic game\, captain on deck. For those of you who ar e unfamiliar with Bloody Monday\, it is our main recruiting event where Cu b Scouts come to the fire house and think of ways to treat severe injuries with lifelike scenarios\, skin prosthetics\, and fake blood to make the e xperience seem almost real. Our Italian Center Swim-Night meeting was also a success\, with scouts getting the multiple aquatic requirements signed off and enjoying the warm water on a cold January night.
\n\n
Also a huge congratulations to Wellington\, Michael F\, Albert\, &\; J ames C for being elected as Order of the Arrow candidates! The OA is the p restigious honor society for scouting and is a First Class and above exclu sive achievement that you can obtain through completing ordeals and provin g how you stand out from other scouts by living the Scout Law &\; Oath daily.

The winter weather is really hitting us and it is very important to dress appropriately in the event that we have to be out side for a longer period of time (Bloody Monday will most likely be outsid e unless there is snow) so remember to bring your book\, pen\, mask\, and dress appropriately!

Hello Troop 11 Scouts &\; Families!

Given COVID-19 related circum stances\, we are not able to meet at the Firehouse until further notice\, so a huge thank you to the Beck Family for hosting our troop tonight and p roviding us with a warm fire. This past weekend was the Powahay District K londike Derby\, hosted by our Troop for the first time ever. Our scout and adult leadership team dedicated so many hours of planning and zoom calls\ , and it ended up being a huge success with tropical themed activities in the snow\, ice\, and 1° weather for those who slept overnight. Thank you t o Jack Huntoon and Aaron Bailey for cooking food to keep us warm and thank you to Matt Rankin and the other members of leadership for stepping in wh en our SPL had to go home early.
\n\n
Troop 11 came home vict orious winning 1st place in the stations\, (although we accepted 2nd in or der for it to not seem rigged) but no worries as we have the duplicate fir st place ribbon. We have an extreme surplus of beautifully designed patche s by our very own Mr. Janocha that I will bring to our next meeting (Blood y Monday) for anyone who wants one. This was a team effort and thank you t o everyone who helped us make this a huge success!

That being said\, our next meeting is our top recruiting event Bloody Monday. T he location will be determined very soon and we are excited to see how our patrols perform their planned skits for the Cub Scouts promoting first ai d and emergency preparedness.
